New Year, new level

Now we're well and truly into 2018 I'm looking forward to taking my photography to new levels.  I've invested in Adobe's Creative Cloud software which allows me to edit and share pictures both at home and via my mobile devices - perfect for when my Canon is either too cumbersome or too intrusive. I like to think that part of a photographer's skill is capturing candid moments with whatever camera they have to hand...

Boxing clever...

I was invited by an amateur boxer to bring my camera along to one of his training sessions.  Definitely a challenge with a fast moving subject and more complex lighting requirements.  Very pleased with the results though.

Oh, and it's always a great feeling when a client selects one of your images as their Facebook profile picture.

Competition Winner

I'm very pleased to have had a photograph selected to represent Shaw Academy.  They run a competition where members vote on entries and then the top submissions are judged by a professional photographer.  I've posted the original below...

Autumn Walks

Autumn is truly upon us once again with its vibrant colours and terrific photographic oportunities.  I often take my camera for walks of several miles and capture many interesting images along the way.

This is one of my favourites from last weekend.

I'm new to professional photography but have been a keen amateur for many years.  Having qualified with a Distinction in an Advanced Diploma course I have taken the next step towards furthering my photography career.  My work has most recently been selected for inclusion in an independently organised exhibition in a local gallery.  I have also produced work for a Facebook advertising campaign.
